L-BRACKET STEEL PIER INSTALLATION

  1. Lay plastic on ground to protect lawn from loose soil.
  2. Dig top hole approximately 24" X 24". Depth to be a minimum of 20" below bottom of grade beam.
  3. Install starter pipe into bracket and place bracket into hole, with support arm under grade beam of foundation.
  4. Attach push tower to top plate of bracket.
  5. Connect push tower to hydraulic power source with hoses.
  6. Press starter pipe into ground with hydraulic fluid pressure until full extension of ram.
  7. Retract ram and place a 30" section of pipe onto the installed starter and press it into ground using the same method. Repeat this process until a minimum 2300 lbs. hydraulic pressure has been reached, or until grade beam cannot withstand further deflection. Remove press tower from pier top.
  8. Install all piers using this process. Once all required piers are installed, place a lift unit onto pier top and place a 20 ton hydraulic jack into lift unit.
  9. Using measuring equipment the structure is lifted to as close to level position as the structure will allow or until residual damage starts to occur. (Complete "leveling" of the structure is not to be expected.)
  10. Once the lifting process is complete, partially weld the pipe to the bracket and remove the lift units from the bracket.
  11. Install a plastic pipe plug to the i.d. of the pipe to protect the pipe from filling with dirt. Back fill the loose dirt into the hole and use a hand held tamper to compact the dirt. Remove excess dirt and back fill at grade beams to provide a sloping effect. Remove plastic from ground and discard of properly.
